By creating “Ports of Normandy”, the Region of Normandy, with the departments of Calvados, la Manche and Seine Maritime as well as the urban areas of Caen la Mer, Cherbourg and Dieppe, continues to fly the flag of our territory – Normandy.
The joining of our three ports, Caen-Ouistreaham, Cherbourg and Dieppe, is first and foremost the affirmation of a joint political priority and ambition for Normandy’s port and maritime strategy, marking a new direction for the region, which has been shunning the sea for too long.
We are aiming to develop activity to enhance added value and promote employment across the territory, optimise the general Normandy port system, and in addition to the two major seaports, equip Normandy with a port structure of national importance, while remaining flexible and responsive.
